About Siddhant Pattanaik

Geophysicist
I am a Geophysicist working in the seismic exploration sector. My expertise includes seismic data analysis, processing and imaging, project management of seismic data acquisition and ensuring that we deliver the highest quality of data to our clients. I enjoy generating solutions for the unique problems that is inherent with each survey or project. My colleagues would describe me as a driven, resourceful individual who maintains his composure in the face of adversity. More recently, I have also taken an interest in developing Machine Learning skills which I hope to apply in my work at some stage. I am seeking opportunities that will allow me to utilize my skills and experience in a valuable manner in both onshore and offshore roles.

Experience
Company: Polarcus DMCC Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 . Description:
• Enabled informed planning at a project, operational, and strategic level by providing key insights to internal decision makers and clients including ExxonMobil, Shell, Petronas, Petrobras, Equinor, Schlumberger, etc. • Ensured overall integrity and quality of geophysical survey data acquired onboard designated Polarcus vessel. • Primary point of contact for geophysical specifications, survey parameters, onboard quality control, reporting and deliverables issues with onboard client representatives. • Prepared start of survey ‘Mobilisation Report’, end of project ‘Final Report’, and controlled live project ‘Acquisition Plan’ to ensure surveys were acquired as per approved specifications, for every survey. • Led a team of up to four Geophysicists during live survey acquisition and onboard processing. • Liaised and cooperated with other seismic departments to ensure efficient acquisition of seismic data. • Created as-is process model to represent the procedures followed at Polarcus, scope for automation and potential improvements in existing processes identified within these models. • Created BPMN 2.0 workflows for various business intelligence applications being developed to address the identified areas of improvement.
Position: Chief Field Geophysicist Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 . Description:

Position: Shift-leader Field Geophysicist Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 . Description:
• Led the Onboard Processing of raw seismic data including initial navigation-seismic merge, static corrections, noise attenuation, multiple attenuation, ghost energy removal for broadband data, 2D and 3D Kirchhoff time migration, stacking, velocity analysis and model building, using DUG Insight software. • Carried out testing of processing and imaging parameters, obtained client approval of tested parameters, executed production workflows, and ensured efficient and timely creation of processed project deliverables. • Improved productivity by more than 20% by automating multiple reports generation (daily logs, weekly reports, line QC reports), allowing personnel to focus on more important survey-specific tasks. • Managed large volumes of geophysical data, extending to hundreds of terabytes for each survey. • Ensured the integrity and quality of seismic data acquired onboard designated Polarcus vessel.

Position: Field Geophysicist Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 . Description:
• Assisted Chief and Shift-leader Field Geophysicists and contributed to all the tasks mentioned above. • Compiled multiple procedure documents for usage of new processing software (DUG Insight) and hardware from Downunder Geosolutions on Polarcus vessels, installed in January 2015.

Company: ION GX Technology, Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 . Description:
• Contributed to the Onboard Processing of raw seismic data including navigation-seismic merge, noise attenuation, multiple attenuation, stacking, velocity analysis and model building, using Promax software. • Ensured the integrity and quality of seismic data acquired onboard designated Polarcus seismic survey vessel.
Position: Offshore Field Geophysicist Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 . Description:
• Contributed to the Onboard Processing of raw seismic data including navigation-seismic merge, noise attenuation, multiple attenuation, stacking, velocity analysis and model building, using Promax software. • Ensured the integrity and quality of seismic data acquired onboard designated Polarcus seismic survey vessel.
