About Ernest Berkman
Chief Scientist
At Research Gate my reads are over 8,700, with my most read paper “Regional Geology and Exploration Potential of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Utilizing Public Domain Information Including Gravity and Magnetic Data” has over 1,000 reads. My RG Score is 14.26, RI is 63.7, citations are 45, and recommendations are 80.
Since my 65th birthday, I have published 9 papers and presentations. I have been involved with an extensive regional integrated interpretation of existing magnetotelluric, gravity, magnetic, and geologic data for a major oil company; unfortunately, no land was available, and no action was taken. I interpreted and managed the acquisition and processing of 43 Km of high-resolution seismic data for an international coal mining company. The interpretation of this data was confirmed by 12,500 meters of drilling in 51 wells, and the client was then able to obtain over $500,000,000 in financing to develop a new coal mine. In Nevada, for a small oil company I licensed some existing seismic data, reprocessed it, and performed an integrated interpretation of the seismic data with gravity, magnetic, satellite imagery, and well log information. I was told by the client that it was the best interpretation report he had ever seen, and he was several years older than I am. I have completed a computer hardware and software update. The computer is portable and powered by an Intel i7 Quad-core with multiple monitors and 32 GB of memory. The software can do virtually anything in the quality control and integrated interpretation (including OpendTect – 2D and 3D and Seismic Terrain Explorer), processing, mapping (Surfer 20), of reflection and refraction seismic, gravity, magnetic, and MT data. Most recently I spent approximately two years working on various prospects in the Gulf Coast Area, for Maverick Drilling Company.
Experience
Company: Mobil Oil Company Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 . Description:At Mobil, I went through their apprentice program so, in addition to oil field seismic, I spent some time on a gravity crew and in the Special Problems Section where I was exposed to gravity, magnetics, MT, refraction analysis, GPR, etc. I was Party Chief of their first digital seismic crew. I had experience in all phases of geophysics, prospect specific and regional, in all areas of North America.
Position: Geophysicist
Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 .

Company: Emerald Exploration Consultants, Inc Duration: Nov 30, -0001 to Nov 30, -0001 . Description:
At EMEX, a highly respected consulting company with more than 100 clients, in addition to the normal oil field seismic, I have done a lot of shallow seismic for coal mine development, site characterization, and MT interpretation on a worldwide basis. My 42 published papers are available at https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Ernest_Berkman.
